It’s Never Enough
While I was making this chocolate cake, I started thinking how many chocolate cake recipes you can actually find online. That’s when I started worrying. What if my recipe is doomed? Maybe people will find it boring. So I wasn’t so sure about sharing this chocolate cake, until I took this picture. That’s when I realized that no matter how many chocolate cakes you see or eat, you will always wanna have some.
Making it stand out
Off course if you have read any of my recipes before, than you probably know by now that there’s always something extra to make it a bit special. I do hate copying. So what makes this chocolate cake different than others? Surprise, surprise, it’s made with honey syrup. The cooking method is very simple and similar to the Greek Walnut Cake Recipe.
Now why did I make it with syrup? It’s traditionally made this way. Like most Greek desserts recipes, syrup is used as a mean of preserving them. Greek cuisine is consisted mostly of recipes and cooking methods that go way way back. The other reason that makes this chocolate cake differ, is because it’s made fully with cocoa powder. No chocolate, or chocolate chips .
Did you know that cocoa gives a much stronger flavor than chocolate? Yeap, it’s true especially when you bake it. That’s why I call this recipe a prescription for chocaholics.
Sugar Time, Anytime
Now about the health part of this recipe This is as healthier as a chocolate cake can get, in order to be equally tasty. It’s also a very flexible dessert. Meaning that you can eat it in the morning with your hot coffee. At night with a nice glass of cold milk, sprinkled with cinnamon. Or at any other time of the day. It feels pretty light for a chocolate cake.
